Amala Ayurveda Bhavan

The Indian system of Medicine, Amala Ayurveda is ancient and rich. Its earliest concepts are set out in the sacred writings called the Vedas, especially in the metrical passages of the Atharvaveda, which may possibly date as far back as the 2nd millennium BC. This system of Medicine has been practiced in the Country from time immemorial and has stood the test of time. Amala realised the potentials of this holistic system. This resulted in establishing Amala Ayurveda Hospital in the Complex in February 1982.

(a) Amala Ayurveda Hospital


Pizhichil
The Ayurveda Hospital was started functioning from 1982. The hospital has specialised treatments for all types of Rheumatic disorders, Bronchial and allergic Asthma, Diabetic Mellitus and certain immuno defficiency diseases.

Dhara
A team of highly qualified and experienced Ayurvedic Doctors and paramedical staff are providing treatment and care.

Navarakkizhi
The Ayurveda Hospital has a bed strength of 60. Hospital offers Panchakarma Therapy and Kerala special treatments like Pizhichil, Navarakizhi, Thailadhara, Pathrapadaswatham, Choornakizhi, Balukaswatham etc to the patients who have complaints of hemiplegia, paraplegia, facial paralysis, rheumatoid, arthritis etc
A fully equipped Panchakarma theatre has been constructed to give these treatments.

(b) Amala Ayurveda Research Wing

The research wing is started for cancer research as a grant-in-aid research projects of Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Sidha, Govt. of India, New Delhi

(c) Ayurveda Medicine Production Unit

The hospital is directly operating a medicine production unit. This ensures availability of genuine drug preparations as the drugs are for exclusive direct distribution to patients at a reasonable price.

d) Amala Ayurveda Bhavan

The hospital also provides special health resort cottages namely, "Ayurveda Bhavan " for patients from abroad and within the country who seek rejuvenative and curative therapy.
